We have had so many firsts for Gianna these past few months. Her first soccer game, her first dance class, and now her first day of preschool. I had been dreading this day because I hate being away from my lil girl. She brightens my mornings with her laughter, wit, and smile. What was I going to do without her for 3 whole hours (2x's a week)? Plus I was sad at the fact that my first born baby was old enough to actually go to school!! All morning I thought back to her first few years of life. Even before she was born. Like the day I found out I was pregnant with her. I seriously feels like it was yesterday. I remember sending Bryan a picture message with a picture of the positive test, and the text reading "Just took this, kinda freaking out". Thinking about it, it made me laugh. I am still freaking out at everything when it comes to her. So instead of letting the situation get to me, I decided to make the best of it =) Also to ease my sadness and fears, it turns out that my sister Melania enrolled my nephew in the same class as G! Gianna was so excited to find out that her cousin was in her class!!
We got there and Gianna made me so proud. Finding her name immediately on the sign in table, putting her lunch away in her cubby, and just being so ready to learn. It filled my heart with joy. It also makes me happy to know that 2 days a week 3 hours a day, my precious little girl gets to share her wonderful self with others, all while she is having a great morning of learning and fun.
While G was in school, I got to spend some one on one time with Juliet and it was great. I ended up signing her up for a music class on Monday mornings, so it gives us something to do together while G is gone. The class is all music, no tapes or cds though. All sung by the leader while she plays her guitar. Juliet loved it. She got to not only be with just me, but she got to be around other kids her age, and of course she really loves music. At first she was shy like she usually is, but after a few minutes she was standing up dancing in circles. The class rocked and the leader totally reminded me of Laurie Berkner, haha.
When Juliet and I picked up G, she was happy to see us, but kept telling me how much fun she had at school. Then we were getting in the car and the first thing Gianna does is pinch Juliet while getting in her car seat. (Oh sisterly love) I then told her "Gianna dont be mean, your sister missed you all day today". She stopped, then a moment later I was raising my voice to tell her to put on her seatbelt. Her reply: " Mom, dont be mean, I missed you all day today". Oh that kid.
